ブログ第３６０弾です。
先週は息子二人が帰ってきました。
特に一番下の息子は１ヶ月の寮生活で、非常に大変な経験をしたことだと思います。
少し体調を崩していましたが、元気そうで良かったです。
帰ってきてホッとした感じもありましたが、すぐに私から将来についての課題を伝えました。
二択での選択肢を与え、息子たちは『えー、厳しい』と言っていましたが、
『全面サポートするから頑張ってほしい』
と伝えました。
今週のテーマは『ダムとコーヒーカップ』です。
これを聞いて何か共通点を思い浮かべることができるでしょうか？
誰もいないと思います。笑
以前にパネルディスカッションにパネラーとして参加して、最後に
『父である創業者は創業時からコーヒーカップを例えにして、
コーヒーカップが会社の体力や資本力だとすると、コーヒーカップから溢れた部分しか飲まない。
要は会社にまず体力を付けさせてから自分の待遇面を考える』
と話をさせてもらいました。
私も小さい頃から非常に心に残っている言葉でした。
結局、いまだに贅沢しない人なので本当に頭が下がる思いです。
そんな言葉を思い出した時に、経営の神様と言われている
松下幸之助さんの『ダム経営』の話を思い出しました。
松下幸之助さんが『ダム経営』の講演をしているときに実は
あの稲盛和夫さんが若い時にその講演に参加していたそうです。
簡単に『ダム経営』の話をすると
『ダムに水を溜めて置けるくらい余裕ある経営を志しなさい』
という内容でした。
講演の時にある方が質問をしたそうです。
『どうやったらダム経営ができますか？』
松下幸之助さんは
『わからないがそう思い続けることが大切ではないか』
と答えたそうです。
質問をした方は『なんだぁ』とがっかりした様子だったそうです。
しかし、その時にいた稲盛さんは真摯に受け止め、恐らく長い間、実践していたのだろうと思います。
私の父も創業時から、鹿児島からお金も人脈もない中で東京まできて、
頼れるのは自分の哲学や信念だったと思います。
やはり、真摯に受け止め、そして実践することが改めて大事ということが分かったことと
『ダム経営』と『コーヒーカップ』が
私なりに繋がったことが非常に嬉しい感想でした。

Blog No. 360th “Dam and Coffee Cup”
Hello everyone, this is the 360th episode of my blog.
Last week my two sons came back to Japan.
Especially, my youngest son had stayed at the dormitory for a month.
I think he had a very difficult experience.
He was a little sick, but I was glad he looked well.
They came back to Japan and looked relieved, but I immediately offered them my challenges for their future.
I gave two options to them.
They said it was very tough.
I told them I would fully support and want them to do the best.
This week’s subject is “Dam and Coffee Cup”.
When you hear this, could you imagine something common?
I think no one understands them.
When I joined a discussion as a panelist before, I told everyone my father’s examples of the coffee cup.
He regarded the cup as a company’s capital force.
He only drinks the overflowing portion from the coffee cup.
The point is to improve your working condition after you make your business enhance first.
It is a word I was very impressed since I was a child.
Eventually, he has never had luxury.
I can’t help but be in awe of him.
When I remembered his word, I was reminded of the story “Dam Keiei” by Kounosuke Matsushita, who was called the god of management.
When Mr. Matsushita talked in the lecture, it seemed Mr. Kazuo Inamori took part in the lecture.
A simple explanation of what “Dam Keiei” means is that “you should aspire to manage your operations well enough as much as you can to store ample water in the dam”.
Someone asked him, “How can you manage it like your way?”, so he said, “I don’t know, but it might be important to continue to think like that”.
The questioner thought it was not clear and he was disappointed.
However, Mr. Inamori took it seriously and probably has been practicing it for a long time.
Since my father did not have money and connections in the beginning, I think he focused on his own belief and philosophy.
After all, I learned taking it seriously and practicing is very important.
So, “Dam Keiei” and “Coffee Cup” were connected in my mind.
I was very glad to think so.
This week was a week of these thoughts.
