ブログ第４２４弾です。
先週も出張続きで高知に行き、また、南日本の協力会で初穂に集合して頂きました。
紅葉がピークで色鮮やかでした。
だいぶ空気も冷たくなってきていよいよ冬が近づいている感じです。
関東でもだいぶ雪予報が出てきています。
みなさんも風邪などひかないようお気をつけください。
さて、先週はある良いことがありました。
それは英単語のアプリでテストに合格したことでした。
英検準二級のテキストで通常の単語は簡単なのですが、
会話表現編という項目があって、単語数も１００個あって結構ハードでした。
また、一番ハードルを上げて２秒以内、全問正解という条件で回答しなければなりません。
そんな状態だったので準二級レベルではあったのですが、１００回以上挑戦して失敗に終わりました。
しかし、先週ようやくクリアすることができました。
何度も別のテキストに変更しようかと逃げようとしましたし、条件を少し緩めて挑戦しようともしました。
しかし、結局会話で活用されないと意味がないので、２秒以内、全問正解で続けてきました。
本当に良かったです。その時は屋外で受けていたのですが、思わず大きな声を出してしまいました。
最近、ここまでしつこくやってクリアしたことがなかったので、本当に嬉しかったです。
諦めずにやることはやはり大事ですね。

Blog No. 424: “Something that made me happy recently”
Hello everyone, this is the 424th episode of my blog.
Last week, I continued my business trips to Kochi and also held a Minaminihon Cooperation Meeting at Hatsuho, where many members gathered.
The autumn leaves were at their peak, and their colors were brilliant.
The air has become quite cold, and it feels like winter is finally approaching.
There is even a fair amount of snow forecast for the Kanto region.
Please take care not to catch a cold.
Anyway, something good happened last week.
I passed a test on an English vocabulary app.
The regular vocabulary in the Eiken Grade Pre-2 textbook is easy, but there was a section called “Conversational Expressions” with 100 words, and that part was quite difficult.
I also set the difficulty to the highest level, which required me to answer every questions correctly within two seconds.
Under those conditions, even though it was only at the Grade Pre-2 level, I tried more than 100 times and failed every time.
However, last week, I finally passed.
I tried switching to a different textbook to escape, and even thought of easing the conditions a little.
However, in the end, it’s pointless if I can’t use the expressions in real conversations, so I kept going with the rule of answering everything correctly within two seconds.
I’m really glad I stuck with it. I was taking the test outside, and I couldn’t help shouting out loud.
I haven’t cleared a test by persevering this much in quite a while, so I was truly happy.
It reminded me once again how important it is to keep trying without giving up.
This week was a week of these thoughts.
