ブログ４４３弾です。
先週の土曜日に娘の入学式に行ってきました。
初めて行く大学でした。
都会の中にこんな歴史のある大学があるとは知りませんでした。
妻と３人で大学に到着すると、正門前での記念撮影にたくさんの方が並んでいました。
実は娘は今回の入学式で入学生代表挨拶をする予定で
並んでいる時はリハーサルで学舎に行かないといけなく、一緒に撮れないかもと言っていました。
並んでいてあと何組かと言う所で娘が戻ってきました。
無事に３人で撮れました。
入学式が始まり、娘の挨拶も撮りました。
妻と２人しか撮影をしていなかったので、少し恥ずかしい気分になりました。
挨拶を聞いていると自分の子ではない遠い存在のように感じました。
入学式が終わり、いよいよ新しい生活のスタートですね。
さて、先週は入社式も行いました。
娘の入学式の前の出来事でした。
娘が総代をやると言う事で入社式に参加したいと言ったので、無理を言ってオブザーバーで参加しました。
南日本は１７名、昭和冷凍７名、計２４名で
毎年国際色豊かでしたが今年は日本も含めて、６カ国出身の卒業生が入社してくれました。
最初に私が挨拶をし、役員たちも挨拶をしました。
その後、昼食会を行い、みんなと会話をしました。
今年の子達は特に元気が良いような気がします。
国際色豊かだから色々と触発されているような気がします。
早く働いて頑張って役職者になりたいと言っていた子もいました。
嬉しい話です。
翌日から新入社員研修や何ヶ月後のフォローアップ研修もあり
また会う機会がありますが、また会い、成長する姿が楽しみです。
先週はそんな週でした。

Blog No. 443rd “Entrance Ceremony”
Hello everyone, this is the 443rd episode of my blog.
Last Saturday, I went to my daughter’s entrance ceremony.
It was my first time visiting the university.
I didn’t know there was such a historic university in the middle of the city.
When my wife, my daughter, and I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting to take commemorative photos in front of the main gate.
Actually, my daughter was scheduled to give the student representative speech at the entrance ceremony. While we were waiting in line, she had to go to the school building for a rehearsal, so she said we might not be able to take a picture together.
We were still in line, and when there were only a few groups left, my daughter came back, and we were able to take a picture together as a family.
The entrance ceremony began, and we also filmed my daughter’s speech.
Since only my wife and I were taking pictures, I felt a little embarrassed.
As I listened to her speech, she seemed like a distant figure rather than my own child.
The entrance ceremony ended, and now it’s time to start a new life.
By the way, last week we also had our company induction ceremony.
It was held before my daughter’s entrance ceremony.
My daughter was going to be the class representative, so she wanted to attend the induction ceremony.
I asked her if I could attend as an observer, even though it was a bit of a hassle.
There were 17 new employees from Minaminihon and 7 from Showa Reito, for a total of 24.
Every year the induction ceremony is quite international, and this year, including Japan, we had graduates from six different countries join the company.
I gave the opening remarks first, and then the executives also gave their greetings.
Afterward, we had lunch and chatted with everyone.
This year’s new recruits seem especially energetic.
I think they’re more proactive because of the international diversity.
Some of them said they want to start working soon, do their best, and become managers.
That’s wonderful to hear.
They’ll have new employee training starting the next day, and follow-up training a few months later, so I’ll have another chance to see them.
I’m looking forward to seeing them again and seeing how much they’ve grown.
This week was a week of these thoughts.
