みなさん、こんにちは
ブログ第４１９弾です。

この時期、子供たちは中間試験だそうです。
最近、息子たちは少しずつ勉強に対して熱が入ってきて
頑張っているねと言ったら、もっと頭の良い同級生が努力しているから大変と言っていました。
頑張っている証拠ですね。
また、娘とも話をする機会があって、
塾で尊敬する歴史上の人物を上げなさいという事で、豊臣秀吉をあげたそうです。
お父さんは誰が好き？と聞かれたので、徳川家康と伝えました。
理由を聞かれて、私が知っている範囲で答えると、今度、その本を見せてねと言っていました。
非常に真剣に私の話を聞いている姿を見ると、こちらが照れてしまいました。

さて、先週は永年勤続表彰を開催させてもらいました。
今年で４回目です。
今年も１００人近くのメンバーが対象者でした。
出席者の中には久しぶりに会った方もいました。
何人か会話した人の中では、私が学生の時に
アルバイトとして応援に行って会っているかもしれない人たちもいました。
同窓会のように懐かしい話に盛り上がりました。
本当に永い期間、働いてくれた方には感謝です。

先週はそんな週でした。

Blog No. 419: “Long-Service Awards Ceremony”

Hello everyone, this is the 419th episode of my blog.

It seems that children are taking their midterm exams around this time. Recently, my sons have gradually become been more motivated about studying.
When I told them they were doing well, they said it was tough because smarter classmates were also working hard.
That’s proof that they’re putting in the effort.
I also had a chance to talk with my daughter. Apparently, at her cram school, she was asked to name a historical figure she admires, and she chose Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
When she asked who I liked, I said Ieyasu Tokugawa.
When she asked me why, I answered as best I could, and she said she wanted to look it up in a book next time.
Seeing her listen so attentively made me feel a little embarrassed.

Last week, we held our annual Long-Service Awards Ceremony once again, now in its fourth year.
This year, nearly 100 members were eligible.
Among the attendees were some people I hadn’t seen in quite a while. Some of them even remembered me from when I was still a student helping out as a part-timer.
It felt almost like a reunion, filled with nostalgic and lively conversations.
I am truly grateful to everyone who has continued working with us for so many years.

This week was a week of these thoughts.
