みなさん、こんにちは
ブログ第４６３弾です。
みなさん、ご存知の通り、私は毎日オンライン英会話をしています。
先週で１５０日連続オンライン英会話を受講出来ました。
しかしYouTubeで調べたら、３年連続受けた方がいました。
日数計算すると１０９５日です。
まだまだ長い道のりですが、頑張りたいと思います。
さて、先週は下の息子がフィリピンの留学から帰ってきました。
今回は３回目の参加でした。
今回は約１か月間留学していたので、少し英語が上手くなっているのかなぁと期待していました。
留学期間中は台湾の同世代の子と同じ部屋だったらしいです。
彼は日本語が分からない、うちの息子は当然、台湾語や中国語を話すことはできないので
お互い片言の英語を話しながら生活をしていたそうです。
英語を習得するには良い環境だったと思います。
初回の時は、日本人同士で同じ部屋で生活をしていたようなので、全く身についていなかったようです。
息子が、帰ってきたので食事に行きました。
食事の間にどうだったと聞いたら、謙遜しているのか、あまり感触が掴めませんでした。
折角なので会食の場所で彼と英語で話をしてみました。
いろいろと質問をしました。
結構きちんと質問に答えてくれるので少し、いい意味で驚きました。
中学英語でも、文章は読めても、言葉に出すのが難しいのですが、スムーズに出ていました。
この瞬間、羨ましい気持ちと同時に、留学の成果が少し感じられて良かったです。
先週はそんな週でした。

Blog No. 463 “English”
Hello everyone, this is the 463rd episode of my blog.
As you know, I take online English conversation lessons every day.
I could take it for 150 consecutive days.
But I checked YouTube, and there was a person who had taken it for 3 consecutive years.
That’s 1,095 days.
I still have a long way to go, but I will try my best.
Last week, my youngest son came back to Japan from the Philippines.
This was his third time going there.
Since he stayed there for about a month, I expected his English to be a little better.
He stayed in a dormitory with a Taiwanese student who was around the same age.
He couldn’t speak Japanese. My son couldn’t speak Taiwanese and Chinese, either.
Therefore, they communicated with each other in simple English.
I thought it was a good environment for him to learn English.
The first time, my son stayed there with Japanese students, so he didn’t improve his English at all.
After he came back, I took him to the restaurant.
I asked him how his study abroad experience went during dinner.
He seemed hesitant, so I couldn’t really tell how he felt.
Since we are already there, I talked to him in English.
I asked him many questions.
I was surprised because he could answer my questions quite well.
Even with junior high school level, it is difficult to speak English even if we can read it. But he could speak it smoothly.
At this time, I envied him and I was pleased with his results better than I thought.
That was my week.
